In USMLE exams you will probably come across ~3-7 questions on palms and soles rash. This list of diseases causing this rash is very high yield to memorize for USMLE.
Here is the list:
- Meningococcemia
- Keratoderma blenorrhagica (Reiter’s syndrome)
- Typhus
- Acral lentiginous melanoma
- Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease
- Mercury poisoning in children
- Bacterial endocarditis
- Tylosis
- Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever
- Graft Versus Host Disease rash.
- Kawasaki, Measles, or Toxic Shock Syndrome
- Steven Johnson syndrome
- Secondary and Congenital Syphilis with it’s characteristic Copper colored rash.
