According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), air quality in the U.S. has improved dramatically since the Clean Air Act was established in 1963. The EPA has since monitored the air for 187 pollutants that can negatively effect the health and wellbeing of those exposed. We’ve compiled four of the six most common air pollutants in our infographic to highlight the risks they can pose to individuals with certain health conditions and what they can do to limit their exposure. We also see how the United States stacks up against the rest of the world when it comes to air pollution.
